Greasable Vs Non Greasable Steering Parts
Vehicle: 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis
Engine: V8 4.6 L
Transmission: Automatic
Drivetrain: RWD
Current Mileage: 134000
I am replacing the idler arm and pitman arm this week and I found that ford parts are non greasable and motorcraft are greasable which is better and long lasting and what do you recommend...........thanks
(I LIVE IN A VERY HOT AND DRY AREA TEMPERATURE GO UP TO 115F)

The greasable componets are the way to go. You just need to remember not to pump grease until you see it hit the ground. Grease just enough that you see the boot start to swell. Non-greasable are easier to maintain, and may have just as long of a life. I am just old school and figure if i grease it myself, I feel it is ready to go. Just my opinion.

I agree as well the greasable parts are the way the way to go as long as you take good care of the vehicle. And sometomes making sure that repair shops will get under there and grease the parts is tough. So i would be prepared to maintain them yourself. I do most commonly see the sealed ford parts go bad quickly where as the servicable parts tend to last longer. But that is just my experience. If you wont to plug the parts in though and not worry about it then you may want to go with the sealed parts.
